Nendo Dango (Seed Bomb)

The Swamp Pavillion, Venice Biennale 2018

The paradigm of industrial agriculture is rooted in war—relying on the same chemicals once used for human destruction to now devastate ecosystems. The seed is the first link in the food chain. Without seed diversity, there can be no food sovereignty, no climate resilience in an era of accelerating chaos.

A shift in paradigm is not only needed—it is urgent.

As part of the One Straw Revolution installation, participants make clay seedballs together. These compact vessels of life are meant to be scattered—into empty lots, cracks in pavement, forgotten soil. In spring, watch them sprout. Take part in this gentle action. Join the quiet allies beneath our feet.

Nendo Dango is a silent revolution—disguised as organic gardening.
