Sous les pavés le jardin

This work pays homage to the 1968 Paris uprisings, when protestors chanted “Sous les pavés, la plage”—“Beneath the paving stones, the beach.” It was a poetic reminder, amidst the rise of modern urbanism, that nature still lived just below the surface, waiting to be recovered.
